LOCATION

Spear Creek is a working sheep station 16000 acres in size with 4000 sheep. Its location is 25km South East of Port Augusta and includes the Western face of the Flinders Ranges in the Horrocks Pass area of South Australia just 3 hours drive from metro Adelaide via Highway One. Our entrance is off the bitumized Old Wilmington Road. The Old Wilmington Road can be accessed from Highway 56 at the Western end of Horocks Pass or via Mc Connell Road off Highway 47 just before you enter Stirling North. The Spear Creek Tourism and Training Centre is set amongst 400 year old River red gums adjacent to the ranges and overlooks Spencer Gulf some 14km away.

Since our beginning in 1993, we now boast accommodation for 48 people, three Executive cabins - featuring fully self contained 4 star accomodation, a conference facility, restaurant. Our caravan park located close to the ablution block has powered sites with water and drainage.

As a base for your stay in this area our location is perfect, for the fisherman, Port Augusta's boat ramp is 25 minutes away. Wilpena Pound is one and a half-hours and spectacular Alligator Gorge under one hour.

The Heysen Trail is close to our Eastern Boundary and we also have our own magnificent private walking trails in the Ranges.

Our core businesses are as a live-in conference centre and overnight coach park. The coach clientele are primarily internationals brought here to sample life on a sheep station with sheep shearing demonstrations, ridge top tours and property tours.

We have been involved in Executive Incentive Travel and have provided for that clientele full private rodeos, off road buggy racing, dinner on the back of a road train in the middle of no-where, 4WD training and lunch with a view on top of the Flinders Ranges.

Also catered for are private parties, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and social clubs with day visits by senior citizen groups and special interest groups.

For large conference groups of up to 250 we do an "Australian Bush Evening" a 4 course meal under the gums next to campfires.
