CONFERENCES
We would like to introduce you to the Spear Creek Tourism and Training Centre.
Located in the Southern Flinders Ranges just three hours drive from metro Adelaide, the centre is built immediately adjacent to the Western Slopes of the Flinders Ranges and is set amongst 400 hundred year old gums. Our elevation of 275 metres above sea level means a kinder climate than the local regional centre, Port Augusta, which is 25km to the North West.
Spear Creek is a working sheep and cattle station and its 16000 acres guarantee privacy and safety for our clients. This is enhanced by our policy of only booking one group at any time. Access is via a bitumen road to the front gate and three km of all weather metalled road to the conference centre. For people in a hurry our private airstrip is 1.5 km long. Mobile phone reception is excellent. As there is no public phone, it is your choice as to whether you wish to be contacted.
The sixty square metre conference room is equipped with video and monitor, overhead and colour slide projectors and white board. There is an adjacent 60 square metre dining area or for groups to break away from the main conference room for work shop purposes. All buildings are heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer.
THE EXCITEMENT / THE RELAXATION
Breaks from working can be exciting or relaxing. For excitement our adventure tourism program includes Off Road Buggy racing, Abseiling, Horse Trail Riding, Private Rodeos, Firearms Training, Assault Course, 4WD ridge top tours, 6WD property tours, Gliding, and Yellow Fin Tuna fishing. All mentioned activities are run by highly qualified instructors / operators and are used in our Executive Incentive Travel or Executive Personal Growth Programs. For all activities POA.
For relaxing, sitting under the gums around a large camp fire is hard to beat and promotes that valuable out of hours discussion. Bush walking in this picturesque area for an hour or so in the evening or morning is a great way to unwind.
Tea and coffee is available at all times and our general facility license is 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year. If given notice our staff will happily cater for vegetarians or people with special dietary needs.
THE FACILITIES
Our complex has accommodation for 48 people and consists of two lodges, one with four rooms one with eight rooms. Carpeted floors, heating and air-conditioning add to the comfort of these new buildings. Both lodges incorporate a toilet. The ablution block has eight showers with external doors (unisex) and plenty of spring water- no water misers. There are appropriate Ladies and Gents toilets, with wheelchair access.
