Spear Creek - The Sheep Station is as spectacular as it is Australian.
Spear Creek is much more than just an overnite stop. The huge 400 year old gums, over 100 species of birds, wild kangaroos grazing on the hill sides, stockmen with their sheep dogs passing by and other station activities happening are all part of the camp fee. Our wombat and kangaroo enclosures  allow clients to get close to the locals. The Herde family have been on the land in this area for 125 yrs and a family member will, if invited, have the evening meal with your group and talk to your clients. Stores from Port Augusta can be picked up for your group at no cost.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Three separate areas each with their own power, light, water and fire pit are available for each coach group. Wood for the camp fires is provided. There are 10 unisex showers, using spring water, do not have water misers.  If the weather is unkind, which is fairly rare in a 325 mm rain fall area, our accommodation is available if not in use. There is the woolshed if desperation strikes. The Caravan Park camp kitchen has a public kitchen, laundry and dinning area which will seat 45. If you wish to have a night off we will cater for your group or you may wish to DBB (dinner, bed & breakfast).
THE FOOD
The food at Spear Creek is tantalising - whether its damper from the camp fire to a full sit-down meal from the purpose built  kitchen. You can enjoy expertly cooked Salt Bush mutton or, by request, food from a menu of your choice in our dining room which seats up to 100 people. Spear Creek specialises in catering  for large groups, motel coaches, camping coaches.
SHEEP SHEARING DEMONSTRATIONS
Scott, the current generation grazier, is also a Shearer capable of shearing over 200 sheep per day. The demo is done at a time chosen by the coach crew and lasts approximately 1 hr covering life on a sheep station and the wool industry.

Spear Creek is a great venue for social club or sporting clubs to enjoy an adventure or outing. Talk to our staff and we'll arrange the activities to suit your people. We can even arrange your transport with reputable coachlines. Bookings essential.
Camping Coaches
Step from your coach to the warmth of a campfire. If you like, we will cater for up to 100 around the camp fire or in the restaurant. Stores, provisions or full catering can be provided.
