Set amongst 400 hundred year old River Red Gums our new Caravan Park is the latest addition to our tourism centre. The Western face of the Flinders Ranges, just two hundred metres away, soars to 3000 feet - a spectacular back drop to the park. To the west the upper reaches of the Spencer Gulf and Gawler Ranges are visible.

Located on Spear Creek Sheep Station, we offer 16,000 acres of privacy and security for you to enjoy. You will be welcome to join any of the activities of the property including ridge top tours, property tours or one of the many sheep shearing demonstrations we do each year for coach groups. Being a centre for 4WD training our instructors can provide training for novice to advanced drivers, with our four purpose-built tracks and many station roads, taking advantage of the natural terrain to obtain differing degrees of skill level required. Our unique "Campervan" track gives 4WD owners who tow a campervan or trailer, an opportunity to access the limitations placed on them by towing. Our "mud hole & water creek crossing" will further extend opportunities for 4WD ers' to gain experience at Spear Creek.

Private walking trails into Deep Creek Gorge and Spear Creek provide walks of one to eight hours duration. Bushwalking the Heysen Trail from the Horrocks Monument at the summit of Horrocks Pass to Spear Creek and Pitchi Ritchi Pass to Spear Creek, with our staff by arrangement delivering you to your start point, are challenging full day walks taking you to the summit of the ranges for spectacular views of Spencer Gulf and the Willowie Plain.

Our park sites have power, water, drainage and communal kitchen, dinning room  and laundry  with ablutions block close by. The Spear Creek Caravan Park is accessed off the old Wilmington to Port Augusta road, (bitumen) and 3kms of well maintained all weather metalled road.

As a holiday base, Spear Creek Caravan Park is perfect:- 1.5hrs from Wilpena Pound, 1hr to Alligator Gorge and just 25 minutes from Port Augusta's boat ramp and the Spencer Gulf.
