Spear Creek Sheep Station is the real thing  running 4000 sheep on 6000 hectres of privacy located in the magnivicent Flinders Ranges but only 15 minutes from Highway One.
If you are travelling to or from the Eastern States, to Alice Springs or Perth you will pass Spear Creek.

Our comfortable Backpacker Accomodation kitchen laundry and common room built amongst towering River Red Gums is spectacularly Australian.

This will be your change to see wild Kangaroos and Emus. In Spring many different types of  harmless lizard inhabit this area. Over one hundred spicies of birds can be found on the property which you may roam as you wish. One of our private walking trails passes trees from which Aboriginals have in the past removed boomarangs and shields, another allows you to veiw a Wedge Tail Eagles nest.

A millon stars shine on Spear Creek from a sky clear of polution and light and you need only walk a short distance from the glow of the camp fire to see them all.

You will be welcome to join in any of the of the over one hundred sheep shearing demonstrations we do each year for coach groups you may wish to take a 6WD property tour or 4WD day tour in the ranges.

For the adventurus horse trail riding is available by appointment with the opperator. If the stockmen our working with the sheep you may be able to join them and their dogs for a very Australian experince.
