Adelaide Model Railway Exhibition Mepham Station at the Adelaide Model Railway Exhibiton displaying what can be achieved in the average home layout. Exhibitions bring about the opportunity to trade with other enthusiasts. HOe rolling stock We have been fortunate to be offered a fine collection of European HOe Lilliput, Bemo, Roco and Eggerbahn locos and wagons. Good second hand HOe rolling stock is not easy to find locally and we have been very lucky. The following are but a few examples of the collection. As time progresses we will show more of our collection Lilliput U Class 0-6-2 Zillertalbahn coach SKGLB Coach Tamsweg coach Union Pacific comes to town The Union Pacific Railroad is one of America's largest Railroad companies. With a loco fleet of up to 4000 units it would be excusable for some of them to be misplaced now and then. At least 4 locos have arrived at Mepham Station. Running mixed frieght and a fuel train the Union Pacific slowly pass through the station whilst a shunter is busy at the mine site. HST 125 The modern British High Speed Trains provide passenger services on many routes. The model here is shown in its British Rail blue livery. Post the privitisation of the rail services in the last few years have seen these trains pass on to a number of private operators with colourful paint schemes. One of the brightest is the Virgin Trains whose red and black trains sporting the distinctive white Virgin logos have travelled the West Coast route since 1997.
Britania The 4-6-2 Britania provided high speed passenger services in the twilight of the British steam era. Seen here is a reconditioned Minitrix model approximately 25 years old pulling into Mepham Station with a rake of BR 63ft MK1 corridoor coaches in an early cream and crimson livery. A lucky find in a second hand cabinet it was not running and thought beyond repair. A new motor was required which was sourced mail order from the factory in Europe the result is a reliable engine for a fraction of its replacement price.
Tank Engines 0-6-0 tank engines provided the mainstay of British Rail frieght duties on branchlines and yard shunting duties. Pictured are a BR J94 on fuel duties and a Class 3F Jinty pulling a mixed load through the pass. Servicing the local factory 3 tank locos deliver and pickup loads on a regular time table. Sometimes they can be seen traveling along the mainline complete with their brake van and guard.
